I don't know this as a fact, but I have deduced that the Texans are going to wear their "Battle Red" alternate jerseys this weekend against the Titans.
This isn't just a matter of fashion. The Texans are 4-2 when they wear their red jerseys, and I'm guessing the Texans weren't favored in any four of those wins.
Some science bozos have done studies that say that athletes who wear red uniforms perform slightly better wearing red than any other color. The guys writing the study theorize that this relates to the evolutionary psychology of color:
"[R]ed coloration is a sexually selected signal of male quality and the presence and intensity of red coloration correlates to male dominance and testosterone levels. Thus, athletes facing off against opponents sporting red uniforms might subconsciously feel thrown off their game."
Okay, so what they are saying is that it's some bizarre evolutionary sexually-related battle thingy. Isn't everything?
Each NFL team is allowed to wear their alternate jersey twice a season. The Texans have worn them only once this season in their stompage of Jacksonville at home.
The Texans in their email have said that the jerseys for this upcoming game will be blue. But they have surprised the fanbase in the past with the red jerseys unannounced before, like in the comeback win against the Titans two seasons ago.
I thought the Texans would wear the red jerseys against the Colts on Christmas Eve, as they have worn them in the past during the holidays against division opponents. However, in the paper this week, the Texans are advertising the Colts game as one that they are encouraging fans to wear the blue jerseys.
I can't imagine they won't wear them again or are saving them for the final game against the Browns. Some battle red mojo this weekend would be nice.

Kubiak is almost as bad a coach as dinise green. I thought capers was bad, kubiak runs the same offense we ran in jr. high in the sixties. Knew rule no passes under six yards.
