That little nugget drew some chuckling from the media attending the post-game press conference after the Falcons beat the Redskins Sunday.Who said it? Yep, ol' number 7, getting in what was (we assume) a good-natured dig at maligned offensive coordinator Greg Knapp. After quickly falling behind 14-0, Atlanta was able to scratch out a 24-14 victory at FedEx Field. A key play came in the third-quarter, when Chauncey Davis's interception return gave Atlanta the ball on the Washington 25-yard-line. Two plays later, Vick hits WR Michael Jenkins on a post pattern.
Woot! Falcons lead 17-14.
Vick, who completed 8 of 16 passes for 122 yards (a 115.1 QB rating), was asked about the call.
"[Jenkins] actually wasn't even in the read. Sometimes you've got to overcome coaching. I told him before the play to make sure he ran his route to win, and he did. Nobody on the field knew what I was going to do but me and him, so it kind of works out that way."
Zing! Strangely, though, that line didn't make it into the papers, or even in the team's official post-game quotes.

Overrated and overpayed!!Not.. A well known threat around the league, just ask the Defensive Coordinators. If anyone has seen the 33 dropped passes they would understand his frustration, and 6 of them would have been for Touchdowns. In a clip of highlights they showed all 31 dropped passes in sequence during the Washington game, and i'm not a Falcons fan !!!!!

The problem with Vick is that he is not a pure passing qb and the NFL requires that skill set. A running qb is a good asset to have at any level but in the NFL you have to have the passing dimension as well to be successful.

If you're Quarterback's running, you've got problems.
A running QB win never win championship. His understanding of the passing game is still at an NCAA level.

If Vick knows so much why isnt he the coach? I am turned off to him at this time. I feel he is showing he is not a winner.

The Falcons will never win a Super Bowl with Mike Vick playing QB. They will however continue to fill the seats and sell tons of #7 jerseys. This "gimmick" is working out beautifully for Mr. Blank.

Offensive coordinators are ruining the game of football. Trust me I know, I'm a Redskin fan. The NFL needs to get back to play calling by the head coaches and by veteran quartebacks.

granted, vick is a great athlete, but as a qb, he leaves a lot to be desired. actually he sucks as a qb. he also has a big mouth with little knowledge. the really good qbs spend some time studying film, and listening to the coaches and learning, instead of running their mouths, and showing their lack of brains, class, and knowledge. DUH!

Give Vick a stick and small pan of sand and he can draw his own plays on the field. Then fire the coach and save money.
