By finally winning a game they should have won, the Atlanta Falcons have extended their season -- and Jim Mora's job -- by at least one week. It's sad, however, that the team is in a position where today's 24-14 win against the Redskins is not all that exciting.
The Falcons winning one game is not exciting because they also have to win next week against Tampa Bay. Then, if they win that game, it won't be that exciting because they have to play and beat the Cowboys the next week. The Falcons have put themeselves in a hole where one more loss could mean the end of any playoff hopes. So, while it's great the Falcons won today, especially given how they have been playing lately, us Falcons fans should not be fooled into thinking today's win really means anything. Yet.

Why is that when Vick and the team does well this blog has relatively few comments. Yet when Vick and team performs poorly, this blog can get up to hundreds of comments. What's really going on?

We had a great game today because EVERYONE stepped up! I was a little nervous especially knowing our record as it relates to come back wins. Although we know that we have to win next week, let's just take it one game at a time. We know what we need to do and how we need to do it and as long as we keep the flow we will be well on our way. We have seen where a team has lost four straight and went on to win the superbowl! LET'S GO FALCONS!!!!

No one posts when we win because most ppl that post are just Vick critics. It is easy to point the figure and blame the million dollar man. Lets get something rolling now and peak in the playoffs. WHO KNOWS?.... GO FALCONS!!

I have been watching football and supporting football teams for ova 20 years, and this is the first city I have ever lived in that would rather complain about their sports teams than to get behind them. I live in ATL and will loose or draw, I support the ATL teams. I am going to Tampa to show support and when the Falcons come home to play Dallas, I hope the Dallas fans don't out number the Falcon Fans in the DOME. WE NEED TO STAND UP AND SHOW SOME TEAM SUPPORT

I have been critical of Vick and Mora all year and yesterday's win has done nothing to change my opinion.I have been a Falcon fan since the franchise started, and I am not a fair weather fan.Mr. blank's threat to the team last week may or may not have been all talk, but I still did not watch a well played game or well coached team yeaterday. I can only hope that this team has turned the corner, but deep down I know it's false hope. This team will never be legit behind Vick and Mora.

Sorry that you feel that way Arnold. Yesterdays win may be false hope, but it sure does feel good to win. I don抰 think that we as fans should be looking for a negative future; who knows, maybe we will win the rest of our games. I think it抯 like Davon said above. We should be supporting the team through all the pain and hardships as well as all of the wins and good times. I also think that yesterdays win against the skins shows what this team is capable of doing (yes while under Vick). Because even though you may not like him as your QB; he defiantly showed everyone that he can throw passes down the field. They didn抰 play the best game they were capable of playing, but hey, it抯 a win. So Vick has shown everyone that he shouldn抰 be traded (which I know that everyone hates), and that he is the QB for this team; he just needs some help on offense and defense, because we all know that he can抰 carry the team alone.

yes vick should be traded . he sucks . hes nothing more than a glorified tailback.thats where he needs to be .tailback or wide out.but that wont happen because he dont know how to protect the ball (something i teach my 10&11 year olds)atlanta will never win a super bowl with vick.say what you want about his qb rating he only threw 16 passes and only commpleted 8 for 100 yards.if he throws the ball over 20 yards its incomplete or picked off.mr blank needs to get rid of him and to stay his ass of the sidelines

I want to thank you guys who POSITIVELY commented on our win. A "w" is a "w" people whether we won by 1 or 25. Give Vick a break, he gets enough grief by people who matter so for those who don't LEAVE HIM ALONE! It bothers me to see people who call themselves Falcons "fans" but complain about everything. A fan is an enthusiastic devotee, follower, or admirer of the sport or team. So if you are not a fan, there is no need to comment!

I have to disagree with your definition of what a fan is. A fan does follow his or her team regardless of wins or losses, however a true fan also wants what is best for their team. Atlanta has something now that they have never had before and that is an owner who truely wants to win. As a true Falcon fan I believe that they can not win consistently with Vick and Mora. The Falcons have a back up quarterback that could start for most teams. I believe it is time he was given that chance before another team takes him.

You know it is amazing that most of the critics who continually bash the birds and talk about Vick are the very same people who have never played the game beyond elementary school level, and then if they exeeded that level more than likely rode pine and never really contributed to any teams success..
Vick is a phenom as a Qback. He has not has the supporting cast..ie, the running attack, the line for him to operate as a pocket passer, the D-fense, and as of this year his recieving core.. remember the last couple of years when this talented QB would put points on the s-board yet,had to stand-by on the sidelines and watch the D-fense loose games on long 4 to 8 minute drives by the opposing teams. Let's call a spade a spade, lot's of things have to be clicking for a team to succeed. Vick isn't the problem..But, what he is...is a proven winner.

Man, Vick is incredible!! The dude plays his butt for like you said Kim, these fair weather or better words--SORRY FANS to come with their hate!! When has the Atlanta Falcons won anything!! You think that fluke super bowl berth was something!! Who's gonna give Atlanta the best chance to win, the back-up quaterback. There is a reason he is back-up!! The receivers are having a bad year, they'll get better, but just give the man a O-line!! Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, wouldn't be jack spit without their great O-line. I'm signing out on some TRUE SHIT!!
