OK, time for another Terrell Owens update. On the one hand, Owens' longtime trainer, James "Buddy" Primm, describes the report of a suicide attempt as "erroneous." But on the other hand, Primm proceeds to tell us two major reasons that Owens has been miserable:1. Owens' son's seventh birthday was Monday. Owens wanted to see his son, but the two were unable to get together, because Owens lives in Dallas and his son lives in California.
2. Owens' fiancee ended their relationship this week.
Did Owens try to kill himself because he was so depressed about those two facts? Or did publicist Kim Etheredge, knowing those facts, assume he was trying to kill himself and tell the police that? Or did the police misunderstand Etheredge? Or did the police make the whole thing up? I have no idea. Owens knows the truth, and if the truth is that he tried to kill himself, he's had a remarkable recovery and is a better liar than he is a football player. If I had to guess I'd go with the second option: Etheredge misunderstood the situation, overreacted in talking to the police, and is now trying to cover herself.
Let's hope Etheredge's 911 call becomes public and sheds a little light on this. After all, if Etheredge is telling the truth, the emergency response system in Dallas is seriously screwed up, and the taxpayers of Dallas have a right to know that.

This whole situation is a joke. Why would T.O. take his medication from the bottle and put it in a drawer? That makes no sense. Two Hydrocodone? Give me a break. I take that for a back injury (surgery) and let me tell you two would not do that to you. I don't care what kind of "legal" supplements you took them with. They wouldn't do that to me and I am a lot smaller that T.O. is. I believe there was some kind of depressive state going on. His publicist is a moron too. Like the Dallas police would make that up just because he is T.O. Give me a break! I wouldn't let her handle my pet snakes affairs after hearing her explanation and "conspiracy" therory. Listen, if the guy was feeling down and made a mistake hopefully he learned from it and moves on finding inner peace. I am not slamming T.O. by the way, I am a Cowboys fan since knee high and that includes anyone on the roster. T.O. keep your head up and move on!

My feelings are that the explanations they are giving are nothing short of hilarious. Especially when his publicist hints that the police made things up. She acted truly unprofessional, unintelligent and ignorant when she made those statements. Then to say that she can't really remember what she said to 911, come on! It wasn't like the call was made a long time ago. I don't believe he took 35 pills either, but again the explanations they are giving to where the rest of the pills were is a joke. Anyone that buys into these justifications would probably put up money to buy the Brooklyn Bridge if you know what I mean. I do agree that wahtever took place is done and as far as I'm concerned is a dead issue. It should now be the concern of T.O., the organization and friends and family.

Suicide? No. He would be dead if he took 35 pills of anything. Even 35 laxatives would kill you. Young black males are not usually in the practice of killing themselves anymore than young black females are of being anorexic. Wake up people!

There are two many "holes" in T.O.'s story. Taking his pills out of the bottle, saying he thought he was taking supplements...the spin the publiscist is putting on it as well as T.O. We need to hear the 911...with his past life history he must certainly have issues..then stop and think add his son and his finance..put on top he is now playing football in a place that does not hold him as the beginning and end of a team..he is just one of the good players there..he should have kept his mouth shut and stayed in Philly where they made him the center of attention! And it was the West Coast Offense and he was the star. I think it will be a cover up no matter what....

I don't buy this spin that it was all just a 'misunderstanding'. There is no misunderstanding a suicide attempt. Everything in T.O.'s past indicates that he has some mental or personality disorder. Whether it's depression or bipolar disorder or something else, I can't say, since I'm not a mental health doctor. In my opinion, Dallas should require T.O. to do a mental health evaluation to determine if he is suicidal or whatever. T.O. has every reason to lie about the alleged attempt, since it would more than likely mean the end of his football career. This is all just a bunch of 'yes' men trying to cover up for him, and it's not doing him any good.

I thought Terrell Owens during his press confereance yesterday seeemd believeable, However, When TO's publisist came to the podium she petty much screw up all the good will that he might have garnered during the press confereance when she said that TO had "$25 Milion reasons to live"? That comment petty much screwed everything up.

I agree with the writer's assessment, that the publicist in all likelihood misread the situation and was the root of the confusion. The fact he was able to practice and give a press conference should be all the proof anyone needs to see that he didn't ingest thirty five painkillers. Although, let's cut the publicist a little slack. I think most people would have been just as panicked if they found a friend or co-worker in an incoherent, unresponsive state immediately after ingesting medication. Losing your cool and making a mistake under those circumstances is not a crime. And that it wasn't Etheredge that was mistaken, but the emergency personnel. Maybe she described the situation and they made an assumption. If Owens really was drugged out of his gourd, then however he responded to their questions is irrelevant.

T.O., T.O., T.O., T.O.,....tut, tut tut. Must have a book coming out. Attention to my Ego Deficit Disorder -in your case - not getting enough of it - just makes you rattle your play-pen even harder. Oh, you're not half done in Dallas are you? You got talent "fly-boy" -it's only that heavy ego that holds you back. This is your last fling for the bling - can't be wasting it in Dallas - right? You're body is all and everything. You know what you put in it. Yer gettin' longer in the tooth - screw up in Texas and it's over. Now, play nice and keep it on the Field. "Last Chance" lookin' back atcha.
Word up from your Buds in San Fran and Philly.

I think that if T.O. took 35 pills he would be DEAD. Give me a break! If this was any other player, no one would be making a big deal about it. And even if he did try to commit suicide, we should be praying for him instead of judging him and finding amusement at his expense. America is so full of self hypocrites.

I am in the medical field but, still have no magic ball to tell me that T.O was trying to take his life. If he was, I hope that he gets help for his problems. I will say on the other hand that he has behaved very irrational on lots of occasions and it hasn't seemed quite normal for a guy of his status and success to care so little about what his behavior is doing to his career. But, I also think it is unfair to place judgement on what his personal life is about.I think he is a wonderful athlete but his attitude and behavior have certainly ruined that for me.

Did something happen,, YES.. what happened..only the 911 tape will give us a smidget of truth..
Next thing...Fire the publicist. Who wants a publicist that can not place a spin on an issue. Her statement was unprofessional and immature. I cringed at every statement she made. The public is thinkig this man tried to commit suicide... What does his money have to do with it????? Sooo many people with wealth commit suicide.. they are not immune to it...
She would have been better served stating that T.O. has a family that he treasures and he would not want them to endure such an incident.. (SEE HOW EASY THAT WAS)...

I AM FROM EAGLE TERRITORY AND SAW ENOUGH FROM T.O. TO LAST A LIFETIME. HE DEFINETLY HAS ISSUES. HE WAS A DISTRACTION IN PHILLY, AND HE IS ALREADY BECOMING A DISTRACTION IN DALLAS. LET'S SEE HOW LONG THE COWBOY ORGANIZATION PUTS UP WITH HIS CRAP.
