Shockey Pulls a Volek, Throws Coach Under the Bus

After a miraculous comeback last week against the Eagles, the Giants spotted the Seahawks a 35-point lead on Sunday before deciding to try to keep things respectable. While they weren't scoring New York was able to rack up 14 penalties and turn the ball over four times (including three Eli Manning interceptions). Things were so bad that the Giants scored 28 unanswered fourth quarter points ... and still lost.

Needless to say, it wasn't a very happy New York locker room after the game:
"A team that does nothing but preach and talk about turnovers, we turn it over like nothing matters, nothing counts," [head coach Tom] Coughlin said. "It cost us the game."
Wrong answer. At least if you're Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey:
"We got outplayed, and outcoached. Write that down," the volatile tight end said after he was told of Coughlin's frustrated outburst. When asked what he meant by "outcoached" Shockey said, "You saw the game."
It must be a "U" thing. Last week it was the Browns' Kellen Winslow popping off and now it's the guy who once dated Mark Gastineau's daughter. All that's left is for former University of Miami tight end Bubba Franks to haul off and deck Brett Favre for one too many medicine balls.

I'm glad to see Shockey is finally coming out of his shell. I'm sure Tom Coughlin's psyched too.
