Eagles fans everywhere have been begging for a power running back to compliment Brian Westbrook. Today the Eagles brought in 10 year veteran Stephen Davis for a "physical and interview."The two biggest question mark positions in camp have clearly been the receivers (you know your receivers are weak when a video game says they stink) and the backfield. There is a lot of concern, as there is every year, especially with Westbrook's recent injuries, that Brian can't go an entire season without getting injured. Personally, I think BWest will be fine and have a very productive year and will be the biggest weapon on the Eagles offense. I do see legitimate reasons to be a little concerned with the depth at the position. Ryan Moats seems to have made little progress from his rookie season and at times appears to have regressed. Betting on Buckhalter to play a full season is like betting on Terrell Owens to have a controversy free year. Mahe, Perry, and Tapeh have shown fans almost nothing to get excited about.
The bottom line with Stephen Davis is if he is healthy and can put up performances like he did years ago he could prove to be a savvy signing by Andy Reid if he chooses to go that route.

If they sign Davis the next "physical and interview" should be with Michael Westbrook. Get it?

For those of you who didn't get what I was talking about in the previous comment, here goes...
"Early in his career with the Redskins, Westbrook punched out then teammate Stephen Davis over a dispute in practice, at that time Davis was largely an unknown but the running back became known as the better player of the two. Westbrook and Davis have mended fences since the incident."

It's good to hear they've mended fences... I didn't even think he had mended his face. That was a savage beating... and I think Westbrook was briefly a cage fighter for a while there.

Stephen Davis? You might as well bring in Eddie George, Marshall Faulk and Ricky Williams. The sad thing for the Eales is that any of them will be upgrades for the Eagles as far as backup RB is concerned.
What they need to be focusing on is who they're going to bring in as a number one WR!
